#105 Clean And Simple

Welcome to our latest challenge, hosted by Viv who has chosen the theme  of CAS or Clean and Simple.
Clean and Simple is defined as
A design of card with clean lines, minimal elements, areas of white space and few or no embellishments, most often single layered or minimal layers.

Some definitions of white space, etc. borrowed from the Less is More challenge blog

Clean and Simple A design of card with clean lines, minimal elements, areas of white space and few or no embellishments.
White Space An area of the card which has no image, layer or embellishment. This can be any colour dependent upon the colour of the card blank.
OLC One Layer Card One piece of card folded in half with no additional layers and minimal embellishments, where the image is stamped or printed directly onto the cardstock.
So please no fussy and fancy and multi layered creations

The above definitions are the criteria we will be using to decide if your entry is CAS or not!

I have been drawing since a child and studied graphics at College many years ago, I now work as a Medical photographer part time but my love was always drawing. I started cardmaking about 4yrs ago when I bought my daughter a cardmaking kit which we did together, but I’m afraid I got the bug! My daughter preferred scrapbooking. I then started looking online at other blogs and this then became my passion and I loved sharing my cards with likeminded people.
I love stamping and loved finding images, but sometimes I could not find what I wanted so I started to draw myself.
This then has become my second addiction and I have never looked back, I love thinking of new images, and its just fabulous to see others take them and make them into beautiful works of art.

Long may it continue!

 THE STAMPMAN
We are kindly sponsored for this challenge by The Stampman (and Lady of course!) who are ofering the winner a £10 voucher for their store, you can spend this online, or if you're lucky enough to see them at a show!  They have a ton of items in store, enough to tickle any crafty taste bud.

Here is how the team interpreted the challenge:-

Viv
I used stamped different floral stamps and distress inks to create this card using simple circle nesties to add some dimension.

Jackie
The image on this card was stamped onto a piece of the same card as the base card and edged with black.  The sentiment was stamped onto the base card and the frame was hand drawn with a pen.  The stamp is by Inkylicious.

Yvonne
The image and sentiment were stamped onto a piece of pain white card, edged with the same ink as used for the image, then mounted onto the whits base card.

Julie
I printed a flourish and added some spellbinders baubles and hand tied bows for my CAS Christmas Card.

Although I think most of my cards are fairly uncluttered in design, I rarely leave much 'white space', and I decided to pull myself right out of my comfort zone here. I paperpricked a dogrose design by Janet Wilson and mounted it on blue mirror card, adding some more mirror card, ribbon and a spot of glitter glue.

I used a House Mouse stamp, coloured in with my copics, and an xcut die to form the stitches for the border.

So here it goes, one of my first CAS cards. I used an image from the Paper Shelter and coloured with my Letraset Markers. The sentiment stamp is from YouDo. I have also use a snowflake from Joy Craft and some gemstones to give it a little shine. Further details added with an embossing board, just framing the white card a little bit. And well, I just couldn't help myself and added a bit of red CS to it all as well. :)

This was such a simple card to make. The dressform is a Tim Holtz die, embellished with some seambinding, a small circular SU stamp and some glittery flowers. The DP is also from Stampin’ Up.

I've got to admit that I'm very into CAS cards at the moment. I created a one layer card using Marion Emberson's "On your special day" stamp set, Brilliance Pearlescent Orchid ink and some pearls.

    1. Hi Mirella, it does say right above the linky that all entries are moderated. Which means they don't appear until approved. I believe it also tells you that when you enter your card, the linky itself I mean!

    3. Sorry, didn't meant to make you feel dumb, and I did notice you are new to blogging too! Don't worry about it, you wouldn't be the only person not to notice it! I just said in case you entered in future and was worried because you didn't see your card appear straight away.

    1. No worries Neet. It only added itself once, but I could easily have sorted it if it had added twice. Thanks for letting me know though
